Next up... Valentine's Cards

My next project will have a Valentine's Day theme.  I'll be using the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper, Artisan Embellishments Kit and the Hearts A Flutter Framelits Dies from the Spring Mini Catalog and the Vintage Verses Stamp Set from the Sale-a-bration brochure.  I wanted to really show you what was included in the Artisan Embellishments Kit, so I took some pictures for you.

More Fun with Sale-a-bration and Spring Mini Catalog Items

I just had to buy the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper as soon as I saw all the colors that were in it!  I really love Melon Mambo and Pacific Point together, so this pack is perfect!  The best part about having two sided papers is that one side is usually themed to go with a stamp set, like the Oh Whale Stamp Set and the other is pretty generic.  I wanted to play with items from both the Spring Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-bration brochure, so I chose That's the Ticket and Ciao, Baby Stamp Sets and the 7/8" Scallop Circle and Petite Curly Label Punches.

Step-It-Up Card using Sale-a-bration and Spring Mini Catalog Items

The roads were so bad yesterday!  I was very happy to stay home and craft the day away.  It was the perfect time to play with all my Spring Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration items I received over Christmas.  (A little present I ordered myself from my hubby.)  I love how you can create a very simple card using the basic items on-hand (cardstock, stamps, ink and ribbon) and then step-it-up a little by adding embellishments and/or designer paper.  I found a really cute card on SplitCoastStampers by Christy Fulk.  Click here to see her sample and here to visit her blog.  Here's what I created:

(Now I added designer paper and some extra techniques, like simple distressing and the Rock-and-Roll technique on my butterfly!  I also added dimensionals to the back of the oval and the coral cardstock.)

Quick Updates, but More Fun Tomorrow!

I can't believe I only had one post last month!  I think that's a first!  Apparently, it's been busy.  Here are some quick updates and I will post more fun stuff tomorrow. 

*  I passed my PRAXIS test last month and I just received my Utah Teaching License in the mail today!  Woo, hoo!!!  Soooooooo glad that part is over!  Now I just need to try to find a teaching job for next year. 

*  My daughter, Kylie came home for Christmas and my in-laws were here for their first Christmas morning with my family!  It was crazy and fun!

We buy each person a gift for under $5 and we wrap them in our own paper.  Mine was Disney themed!

Can you believe all that snow!!  It was definitely a white Christmas in Utah this year!

* My husband and I celebrated our 21st Anniversary on December 29th!  The saddest part was that we had to drop Kylie off at the airport on our way to a nice dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

I think that's it...  Lots of fun and excitement last month and then we kind of hibernated and are trying to stay healthy for January.  The air quality is horrible!  We still have a ton of snow and it has been really cold, so I have been inside reading a lot.  I've actually read five books already this month!

I have been inspired to craft, so check back later this week for some Sale-a-bration info and project ideas.
