Affection Collection #1 Friend Card

I finished my second card for my swap yesterday and got them in the mail.  Woo, hoo!  There are two days to spare.  ;)  I wanted to use my Affection Collection set we were given at Convention, so I thought it would look really cool with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  Stampin' Up! is still having some issues with their new Basic Black Ink Pad smearing on Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock, so I chose to use my Jet Black Stazon pad to stamp the main image.  The only problem was that it really needed to be re-inked!  I decided that I actually like the lighter image, since it added to the vintage feel of the card.  I did use the Basic Black pad to sponge around the edges of the Very Vanilla cardstock and First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Let me know your thoughts!  I will be demoing this card during the month of September, so contact me if you want to book a fab party!

Happy 11th Birthday, Dylan!!

I can't believe my baby is already 11!  Time sure does fly by...
World's Greatest Son card designed by Paula Wright and stamped by Tammi Verbarendse
World's Greatest and Family Reunion stamp sets, Old Olive cs, Summer Smooches dsp, Pool Party cs, Whisper White cs, Island Indigo ink pad, Pumpkin Pie ink pad, mini silver brads, Bitty Banners framelits, dimensionals, Labels Collection framelits (I think that's all correct!)
We had a great time in Boise celebrating three birthdays at once!  My Grandma Barbara's birthday was last Wednesday, so we had a little party for her, my niece Callie (who turned 2 on the 13th) and Dylan.  I'm trying to get Callie hooked on Veggie Tales, like my kids were and I think I am succeeding.  She keeps asking for 'cucumber' and loved her Larry the Cucumber toy I bought her.  :)

Callie is so excited to get a stuffed Larry the Cucumber!

Another fun thing about birthdays is all the homemade cards we get!  I've gotten my whole family hooked on Stampin' Up! over the years, so it is always fun to see what cards they make for different occasions.  Here are all the cards Dylan got, plus the card my daughter made him for today.  :)
Aunt Stacy's birthday card created by Stacy McCain in Boise State colors!  His favorite!

Aunt Bonnie's card created by Bonnie Lucas made with a retired Sale-a-bration set

Kaity's birthday card for Dylan.
I forgot to take a picture of my card I made for Callie and Grandma, but I'll remember next time!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!  Check back tomorrow for some more fun cards and feedback from my last Bunco... Stampin' Up! Style event!

Crafting Day

Boy, has it been a busy week!  In case you haven't heard, we adopted a sweet (usually) dog we named Sebastian on Sunday.  He is 2 years old and a border terrier mix.  We have really enjoyed getting to know him, but he has required a lot of attention!  He loves my daughter, Kaity so he has grown a little attached to her.  This has led to a bit of a protection complex, so he has barked at my son and husband when they leave the room and then return.  We are working on this, so he is getting more comfortable around everyone.

Here is a quick page I created to introduce him to everyone.

Created by Tammi Verbarendse using My Digital Studio
Now I am off to prepare everything for my fun Bunco... Stampin' Up! Style event in Boise on Tuesday.  The make-n-take will be based on one of my Happy Birthday swap cards for convention.  We will break for a quick demonstration on how to create an easel card and how to do the Spirelli technique, like I did on my Over the Top swap card.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Upgrading to MDS2 Today!

Okay, I totally planned on uploading the MDS2 update as soon as I got home from vacation, but with a sick family and our guinea pig passing away, it kind of got put off.  Well, I am finally uploading the new $19.95 update today!  I was trying to decide between the regular MDS2 upgrade or the $79.95 MDS2+ upgrade and I decided to go for the cheaper version.  I really want to play around with it and take advantage of some of the 31% off downloads instead of going for the + download.  In case you are trying to decide, here are the links to what is on each upgrade:

130644 MDS2 software $39.95
130650 MDS2 software upgrade $19.95 (This is the one to get, if you just want the basic updates and already have the first My Digital Studio software.  It does not have the downloads that come with the MDS2+ software.)
120646 MDS2+ software $79.95 (The MDS2 update with $500 worth of additional downloads!)

If you're still not sure, than download the trial version for free

I will be playing around with MDS2 this weekend, along with stamping some fun projects for upcoming classes and kits, so stay tuned for pictures!  If I can figure out how to create a video with the cameras I have on hand, maybe I'll try to make one of those, too!  Wish me luck!

Have a fabulous weekend and do something creative!

Sad News on the Home Front

I think I mentioned in one of my disney posts that my daughter's guinea pig, Betsy was really sick while we were gone.  Luckily, she made it until we got back on Monday and couldn't get enough of my daughter, Kaity the last two days.  Even though she didn't seem to have a lot of energy, she kept crawling into Kaity's lap and snuggling with her.  Well, Betsy passed away sometime last night.  We are all very sad that she has left us, but happy that we were able to spend these last few days with her.  She is in a happier place and no longer in pain.  RIP Betsy.  We miss and love you!

I'm back!

What a week!  We just got home from our fabulous week in California.  My mom sure knows how to celebrate a special birthday!  :)  We spent the first half at Disneyland and the second half in San Diego.
Made into Cars Land!
All was well until the last day or two... I developed a head cold that apparently went to the rest of my roomies... my son got his 'seal cough' the last night in San Diego and then my daughter caught my head cold and had an ear ache the whole ride home today.  Our pet guinea pig, Betsy also had a bit of a health scare while we were gone.  She had to go to the 'vet hospital' on Friday with seizures and went into cardiac arrest when they had to force feed her.  Luckily, the amazing vets at Clearfield Veterinary Clinic took perfect loving care of her for us and she made it through the weekend and into Kaity's very greatful arms!

We are exhausted, but full of fun memories!  I'll post a few pics later this week, along with the current Stampin' Up! specials.
