My December Wallpaper

I wish I could show you my cool projects I made using My Digital Studio, but they are Christmas presents, so... I'll have to wait until December 26th.  :)  This is actually the first time I have sent something to be printed by Stampin' Up! and mailed to me.  It was so easy and cool!  I can't believe I haven't done this before!!  I can't wait to see how they turned out!

Here is just a little something I whipped up using MDS2 and the Christmas Jingle kit.  I always make a quick calendar of the month for my computer desktop.

Have a great week!!

New Paper Trimmer & Family Fun

In case you haven't heard, IT'S HERE!!   Check out the video below to view all the cool bonus features on Stampin' Up!'s new Paper Trimmer. To order your very own for only $29.95, click on the 'shop now' button on the right and type in the item number 126889.  I actually have one in my hands!  I haven't had a chance to play with it much, since I'm still studying for my PRAXIS test that I will be taking December 18th...  I'm hoping to take a little crafting break this weekend to work on some digital calendars and some Christmas cards.  I promise to post anything that I create!!!  I can't wait to try this out!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  We headed to Boise and enjoyed a fabulous weekend with the family!  Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving at my Mom and Dad's house,  our annual Festival of Trees trip and our Family Crafting Day aka Girls Day.  I was sad because everyone was making these cute cards, tags and ornaments while I was studying... Next year!!!  Plus, I can't wait to receive some of their projects on Christmas.  :)

Grandma Barbara had a lot of fun making her cards today.
Thanks again, Mom, for creating the fabulous card kits for her!!

My mom, Cris, made the cutest tags!!
Some were really big, so we were joking about the size of the presents she must be giving us.  :)

I had to include a picture of me on Family Crafting Day...
I really wish I would have crafted instead of studied, but I'm sure I'll be thankful Dec. 18th.

We had to include the rest of the girls during our fun Girls Day.

My cousin, Shawna was so excited to be included this year!
She played Angry Birds on her mom's ipad and napped.
I'm kind of jealous!
I hope everyone had a fantabulous Thanksgiving and I wish you a very merry December!  Don't forget to check my website for specials, promotions and ideas to help inspire you during this holiday time.  If you need to have anything shipped directly to your home, click on the 'shop now' button on the right and shop away!  :)  Don't forget to check out the digital downloads and the Clearance section.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Christmas in June

I've been working on some card swaps for Stampin' Up!'s 2012 Convention next month.  It's so fun to swap cards and get new ideas!  One of the cards I've been working on is a Christmas card.  I knew what type of layout I wanted to use, but I was having a hard time getting the right colors and pattern paper to work, but... I finally did!  Here is a sample of my Christmas card.

I used some of my leftover scraps to create a Father's Day card for my husband.  Check back tomorrow to see how that turned out.

Nightmare Before Christmas Tree

I bought this cool black tree for Halloween and never decorated it.  We decided we kind of liked it on our mantel, but how do you fit it in with Christmas?  The answer, of course is to make Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments!  My daughter, Kaity loves making items with bottle caps, so I put her in charge of this project.  She drew the characters on little circles cut out with the 1" Stampin' Up! circle punch and adds Crystal Effects to the top.  Once they are dry, she punches a hole at the top with the Crop-a-dile and then used the thin black ribbon at the top.  She's so creative!

My niece, Callie is not too fond of Santa this year!

I'm not sure who is more nervous about Santa, Callie or Kaity.

Gift Tags

Dylan and I had fun creating some homemade gift tags the other day.  I am really into Mixed Media, so I decided to experiment with dryer sheets, paper and paint.  When they were all dry, we cut/punched them out and added them to our packages.
Dylan's really focused on painting.

Dylan thought a plastic fork would work better to hold the circles down to create our snowmen.
He was right.

Our finished snowman tag made with the dryer sheets.

I'll post some more tags tomorrow, so don't forget to check back.  Also, I will start the 12 Days of Christmas on Tuesday, December 13th!  You'll get to see one calendar page a day!

Family Cardmaking Day

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving yesterday!  We made the trip from Utah to Boise on Wednesday to spend some time with our family this year.  It was so nice to celebrate Thanksgiving with them again!  It's been 5 years since the last time we were able to, since we were living in Minnesota.

The other nice thing about living closer to my family is that I get to enjoy our Family Cardmaking Day again!  This year it will be my mom, sister, aunt, grandma and my sister's mother-in-law.  We each design a card and then make 5 of each person's card.  It's so fun to see what everyone created and we get a head start on our Christmas cards.

Here is a picture of the one I created on Tuesday.  I am know as a procrastinator, so I waited until then to create my card, prep my kits, buy my family some Christmas gifts (so I don't have to mail them), wrap them, create gift tags for them AND create a couple last minute Christmas gifts that I can't show you until after Christmas.  (I don't want to ruin the surprise.)  Phew!  Glad I got it all done and I hope you like my card.

Mixed Media Christmas Project continued...

Now I added a little bit of stamping (hard to see), some acrylic paint (olive, red & pearl white) and some more paper.  I think my next step will be adding my 'J' and some other 3D embellishment...  Stay tuned!

Mixed Media Christmas Project

I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend, whether that means being productive or laying around in your pjs all day.  I did a little of both.  Here is a picture of a canvas I'm working on using my leftover scraps from my November Kit of the Month.  I've been wanting to try a Mixed Media project on canvas, so... I did!  This is just one stage of many for this piece.  I wanted to create 3 canvas projects that spelled out 'Boo!', but... never got to it.  Now I decided to try for 'Joy!'  Maybe I'll have it finished by Thanksgiving.  ;)
